Tansy Herb – Tanacetum vulgare L. – Herba Organica

Tansy Herb (Tanacetum vulgare L.) – Natural Dried Herb for Teas and Blends

What is Tansy Herb?

Tansy Herb from Herba Organica is a wild-collected European herb, carefully collected and hand-packed to maintain its natural colour, structure, and characteristic aroma. This 100% natural product contains only dried Tanacetum vulgare L. with no additives, preservatives, or artificial colours. Tansy has been part of traditional European herbal practices for centuries, valued for its aromatic bitterness and versatility in infusions and herbal blends.

Traditional European Uses

Historically, Tansy was harvested in late summer when the flowers were fully developed. In rural European households, the dried herb was stored for year-round use. It was primarily prepared as a simple herbal infusion or decoction, either on its own or blended with other wild herbs.

Tansy Herb was valued for its aromatic bitterness, which could add depth and balance to herbal drinks and seasonal beverages. Its practical long shelf-life and strong aroma made it a common addition to everyday herbal preparations, often used to create mildly bitter infusions that complemented sweeter or milder herbs.
