Rock Rose Loose Herb – Cistus incanus – 1 oz

Rock rose (Cistus incanus) is a remarkable Mediterranean herb valued for centuries in herbal traditions. This loose herb is ideal for brewing a fragrant, earthy tea with a wide range of potential benefits.

• One of the most notable qualities of Rock rose Cistus incanus is its potential role in supporting the body during various infections. It has been suggested to offer benefits against viral, bacterial, and fungal challenges. Many practitioners consider it an “intelligent” biofilm buster that disrupts the protective barriers. These barriers are what bacteria use to evade conventional antibiotics. This property makes it of special interest in protocols addressing persistent infections.
• Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt has highlighted the use of Rock rose Cistus incanus tea in his Biological Lyme Protocol. He notes its potential effectiveness against Borrelia burgdorferi (the Lyme disease pathogen) and co-infections such as Bartonella. Studies have also explored its antiviral effects. These show activity against influenza, rhinoviruses, HIV, Ebola, and Marburg viruses, possibly by preventing viruses from attaching to host cells.
• Research also indicates antibacterial potential. It is especially effective against Gram-positive bacteria like Streptococcus mutans, helping reduce bacterial adhesion in the mouth. This supports oral health. Its antioxidant potential is exceptionally high, potentially exceeding that of green tea and red wine. Thus, it contributes to immune support and healthy inflammatory balance.

Additionally, the polyphenols in Rock rose Cistus incanus may help bind heavy metals, assisting the body’s detoxification processes. This makes it a valuable part of a seasonal wellness routine.

To prepare, steep 1–2 teaspoons of the loose herb in freshly boiled water for 10–15 minutes. Enjoy warm, up to three times daily, or as recommended by your practitioner.
